The Story So Far...

   The background for this quest item is contained in the Aerlinthe Record, in the section describing the murder of Lady Galaeral.

Step 0: Preparation

• Either a C or a D Note (See Step 1 for why)

• The best protections you can possibly get

• The highest AL armor you can find

• As many brave adventurers as you can get to join you (Level 45+, of course)

Step 1: Getting to Aerlinthe Isle

 Ok, we should start form the very beginning. Two Emissaries from Aerlinthe appear in Dereth. One in Chalicmere Fortress (17.7s 57.4w), and one at a group of temples in South Dires. (87.6s 65.6w).  The Chalicmere emissary is cheaper (only 10k), however the South Dires Emissary is guarded much less heavily.

Chalicmere Emissary - Upon entering Chalicmere Fortress, you will see Faladha the Emissary.  When you hand the Emissary a C note, he then gives you this message and summons a portal to the drop point on Aerlinthe (84.1n 47.2e).

South Dires Emissary - A similar situation with the other Emissary in the South Dires, with Garaena the Emissary except her fee is 50k. When you hand her the D note you hear this message right before she summons a portal to the same drop point on Aerlinthe as Faladha's portal:

  ----The voice in your mind purrs, "Ai, this will serve. Seek the dark ones and destroy them...yet meddle not with the devices on the island of Aerlinthe. Perilous they are to those who do not understand their art."

Step 2: Getting from the Aerlinthe Drop point to the Reservoir alive

  This may not seem like a major task, however Aerlinthe Isle is populated with some of the nastiest creatures to inhabit Dereth, ranging from Coral Golems to White Wasps.  I highly recommend taking the long way there.  Run the perimeter of the Isle counter-clockwise, avoiding as much of the local fauna as possible.  Refer to the Aerlinthe Map for a visual.

Step 3: Inside the Reservoir

  Once you make it to the reservoir, you will find the sacrificial dagger on the second level of the Olthoi section.  I do not have a current map showing the details of the reservoir, but you can refer to the original map made by Damien Sarin here.  The room the dagger is located in is a branch off of one of the Olthoi tunnels, and contains a bloody altar...
